Sometimes, the most unexpected moments leave the deepest impact. This past weekend, I joined a surprise visit to a local church where some of the organization's beneficiaries worship. I had no idea what to expect -- but what I experienced will stay with me forever.
Stepping Into Pure Joy
As I walked into the church, the sound of joyful singing and rhythmic clapping filled the air. The energy was overwhelmingly beautiful -- people dancing, smiling, and lifting their hands in praise. It was a moment of pure gratitude, untouched by material worries or life's struggles.
I looked around and saw familiar faces -- some of the organization's beneficiaries, people we've walked alongside in difficult times. Yet, here they were, not dwelling on what they lacked but celebrating what they had. Their faith and resilience humbled me.
A Lesson I Didn't Expect
As I stood there, taking it all in, a thought hit me hard: We are not called just to be good, but to be Godly.
It is easy to think that being a "good person" is enough, but watching these people worship with unshaken faith reminded me that true purpose lies in living for something greater.
They have endured hardships most of us can't imagine, yet their trust in God never wavers. That kind of faith is something I deeply admire - and strive for.
Stories of Strength and Healing
After the service, we spent time with the congregation, and I heard stories that moved me deeply.
One woman in particular stood out. She has been battling cancer, a diagnosis that would break most people. But instead of fear she radiated hope.
She shared how, for years, she also struggled with severe stomach problems - an issue that caused her constant pain. But through prayer and faith, she was completely healed from the stomach issues. Though she is still trusting God for full healing from cancer, she believes with all her heart that He is working in her life.
Her testimony shook me. Here was someone facing one of life's hardest battles, yet she was praising God, smiling, and encouraging others. Her faith is unwavering, and it reminded me that even in our darkest moments, God's light still shines.
Leaving With a Full Heart
I came expecting nothing much other than to witness their joy, but instead, they shared it with me. They reminded me that happiness isn't about how much we have but about thee gratitude in our hearts.
I left the church with a new perspective: Faith isn't about having everything - it is about trusting that God is enough

Yes truly we have to give thanks to God all the time. Gratitude. You complain of what you don't have while others want what you have. You have alot to give thanks for. Life is one reason. You complain you don't have shoes when someone else has no feet... let's embrace what we have and be grateful we live one day at a time
